Officers investigating a number of theft from car incidents in Basingstoke have arrested a man.
Police received reports that 22 vehicles had been accessed in various parts of the town between 22 January and 7 February.
Items were stolen from some of the cars, while others were damaged.

Man, 41, arrested on suspicion of drug offence in Basingstoke
A man has been arrested on suspicion of a drug offence following a proactive stop in Basingstoke yesterday.
Officers from the Priority Crime Team carried out plain-clothed patrols in various parts of the town on Sunday 9 February.
They spotted suspicious activity linked to a Hyundai car at around 12pm and followed it before it came to a natural stop on Baird Avenue. The driver attempted to flee the scene, but he was detained by officers.

It’s been an exciting few weeks in the progression of the rink. Most of the inside of the building, including the barrier, which has been completely stripped, as well as the removal of sound and lighting, and the foil thermal sheeting from the inner ceiling have been cleared.

Man arrested on suspicion of stealing a quad bike and poaching
A man has been arrested on suspicion of rural crime offences following a suspected poaching incident in north Hampshire.
Police were called at 10.23pm on Thursday 6 February to a report that quad bikes were being driven around a field containing crops and livestock between Hartley Wespall and Rotherwick.

Officers received reports of six recent burglaries, which are believed to be linked:

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug and knife offences following a proactive stop in Basingstoke yesterday.
Officers were on patrol when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a grey Hyundai car on Greenkeepers Avenue at around 4pm on 27 January.
Following a search, officers located suspected Class A drugs, a zombie knife, digital scales and £115 in cash. All items, including a mobile phone, were seized.

Police were called to a report that a staff member at Betfred on London Street had been threatened by a man who demanded cash from the till on Monday 20 January. Nothing was stolen.
Officers carried out a number of enquiries and made an arrest on Thursday 23 January.

Two men have been jailed for a combined total of 24 years after they blackmailed a man and forced him to hand over £1,800 in Basingstoke.
Tony Berridge, 40, of Landseer Close, Basingstoke, and Callum Smith, 32, of Stocker Close, Basingstoke, were both jailed for 12 years at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday 23 January.
The court heard the pair blackmailed the victim, a man in his 70s, and made him transfer £1,500 into an account on 21 March

Log Burner Fire Breaks out in North Hampshire Home
Firefighters responded to a house fire in Plastow Green, North Hampshire at approximately 4am this morning.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a foot chase in Basingstoke last night.
Officers were on patrol when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a silver Volkswagen Polo on the A30 near Hatch Warren at around 8.30pm on 21 January.
The vehicle was driven into Alderney Avenue and police signalled for the car to stop. The driver then decamped from the vehicle and a short foot chase ensued.

A man has been charged with arson following an incident in Basingstoke.
We were called to reports of a small fire at an address on Tortuga Walk at around 2.30am on Sunday 19 January.
Officers attended the scene and extinguished the fire. A man was arrested inside the property.
Barry Thomas, 58, of Tortuga Walk, Basingstoke, has since been charged with arson and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.

Eastrop Park canopy to be removed
The canopy in Eastrop Park will be removed later this month as it has reached the end of its life and needs to be taken down.

Officers investigating reports of Class A drugs supply in Basingstoke have charged two men and arrested three other people.
It comes after officers attended a property on Montserrat Road on Wednesday 15 January and found more than 2,500 wraps of suspected Class A drugs and £900 in cash.
Officers also found £3,800 in cash following a search of a property on Alders Close on the same day.

A man has been jailed for more than three years after he stormed into a woman’s home and assaulted her in Basingstoke.
Dermot Ryan, 33, of Basingstoke Road, Micheldever, used force when entering a property in Crown Heights on Alencon Link on 6 March last year.
He pushed and punched a woman, who was known to him, and left her with injuries to her head and eye. Ryan was armed with a sharp-pointed nail at the time of the assault.

Officers were called at 2.06pm yesterday (13 January) to a collision involving two HGV lorries on the westbound carriageway.

Two men have been arrested after officers found suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Basingstoke yesterday.
Officers were patrolling the Oakridge area when they noticed suspicious behaviour linked to a Mercedes car on Cherry Tree Walk at around 1.20pm on Thursday 9 January.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers found suspected Class A drugs in a coat pocket.

The man, who has been described as being slim, was wearing a tracksuit and was walking a small dog.

Officers received a report that a man had followed a young girl near the park on Doric Avenue at around 4pm on Thursday 2 January.

Basingstoke Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of an assault in Basingstoke.
Officers received a report that a man and woman, both in their 20s, were assaulted on Wessex Close, near to the junction of Culver Road, at around 12.30am on Wednesday 1 January.
The man suffered a serious shoulder injury while the woman suffered injuries to her jaw, nose and teeth.

Witness appeal after suspicious incident in Basingstoke
Officers in Basingstoke are investigating after a man found an Airtag taped to the underside of his car.
The device was found yesterday (December 20) taped to the Mitsubishi.
Further enquiries have found a rider on a motorbike with no registration number visible approached the vehicle in Trinity Way between 4.30pm and 5.30pm the same day, after the Airtag had been found.

Rink repair programme agreed to keep ice in Basingstoke
Major refurbishment work is set to begin at Basingstoke’s ice rink following Nice Leisure Limited taking over ownership of the long-term lease.
The move will bring in the investment needed to secure the future of ice in Basingstoke through the programme of repairs needed to the ice pad and upgrading of the rink facilities, led by the Planet Ice brand, as the operator, and funded by Nice Leisure Limited.

Man, 29, jailed after raping child in Basingstoke
A man has today been jailed for more than 10 years after he raped a child in Basingstoke.
Declan Westwell, 29, of no fixed abode, raped the teenage girl – who was not known to him – in the Oakridge area on Wednesday 8 May this year.
Following a fast-paced investigation, Westwell was identified and arrested. He was subsequently charged with raping a girl aged 13, and remanded in custody.
He denied the offence but was found guilty following
