Basingstoke Ice Rink Update

It’s been an exciting few weeks in the progression of the rink. Most of the inside of the building, including the barrier, which has been completely stripped, as well as the removal of sound and lighting, and the foil thermal sheeting from the inner ceiling have been cleared.

Designs for the front end of the building, including the reception area, skate hire, and servery, have been submitted for consideration. There are some preliminary checks that need to be completed to finalise the drawings, which we are currently working through with architects and designers over the next few days.

Structural engineers have been on-site over the last two weeks to determine the remedial plans for the walkways, pad, and stands. Final drawings for remediation are being completed for the start of next week, with discussions opening with contractors to follow.

All remaining hardware will need to be stripped out by the end of February to make way for construction to begin, and we are still working to our existing timeline.
