Whitchurch Silk Mill, a fascinating piece of industrial heritage located in the picturesque village of Whitchurch.

Whitchurch Silk Mill is the oldest working silk mill in England that still operates within its original buildings. It has been weaving silk for over 200 years.
The mill draws its power from the gin-clear waters of the River Test, which flows nearby, using a traditional waterwheel.

The mill’s history is intertwined with famous names such as Thomas Burberry, Thomas Wardle, and Warners. It produced fabrics for shirting and even Ede and Ravenscroft’s legal gowns.
The Victorian machinery at Whitchurch Silk Mill continues to create beautiful silk cloth and garments, preserving an endangered heritage craft.
