The Oakley Pedalers: A Cycling Club for Everyone in Basingstoke

The club's main aim is to promote a community ethos and encourage people to enjoy the benefits of cycling. The club organises regular road rides throughout the year, from foundation rides at around 14 mph to chain gangs at 20+ mph. The club also participates in road racing, cyclo-cross, sportives, and charity rides. The club has a strong connection with the local Breeze network for women, and has a thriving group of ladies in Oakley Pedalers. The club also organises social events for its members, such as pub nights, quiz nights, and annual dinners.

The club welcomes new members of all levels, and offers experienced members who are happy to support and encourage newcomers. The club meets every Saturday morning at the school lay-by (Oakley Church of England Junior School) in Oakley, where rides at different levels set out. On Sunday, the club has a more informal ride to a local cafe stop. In summer, when daylight hours allow, the club also has a faster paced ride on Thursday evenings.
