Mark Steel is a renowned stand-up comedian, broadcaster, newspaper columnist and author, who has been making audiences laugh with his witty and insightful observations on life, politics and culture. In this show, he will share his personal stories of growing up in a working-class street in Kent, discovering his natural father was a millionaire backgammon player, and coping with the modern world of technology and social media.
He will also improvise on the spot based on what has happened in the room, in the town or in the world that day, making each show unique and unpredictable. The show will also feature a piano and a bit of singing, adding some musical flair to the comedy. Mark Steel has won numerous awards and accolades for his work, including being named newspaper columnist of the year, winning the Sony Award for Mark Steel’s In Town on BBC Radio 4, and being voted the 6th best radio comedy ever by Radio Times. He is also a regular on TV shows such as Have I Got News For You, QI and BBCR4’s News Quiz.
